Post-Op Rehab

At Vertical Sports Physical Therapy, post-operative rehab is approached with a meticulous, data-driven process designed to help clients recover fully and return to their activities more strongly than ever.

Post-Op Rehab

The goal is not only to restore movement but to ensure clients have the confidence, strength, and agility needed to thrive post-surgery.

The process begins with a comprehensive assessment, where we evaluate mobility, strength, and functional movement patterns. Advanced tools like force plates and dynamometry are used to measure performance and identify asymmetries or deficits. This allows us to establish clear benchmarks and tailor a personalized rehab plan based on the specific surgery, such as ACL reconstruction, rotator cuff repair, or joint replacements.

One of the cornerstones of our approach is addressing the critical final stages of rehab. Many clients reach 80% recovery and stop therapy prematurely, assuming they’re ready to resume normal activity. At Vertical Sports PT, we focus on bridging the gap between 80% and 100% recovery, ensuring that strength, stability, and coordination are fully restored. This step is crucial for preventing re-injury, as studies show that premature return to activity increases the risk of complications and setbacks.

Our rehab protocols are grounded in evidence-based practices, incorporating progressive strength training, agility drills, and sport-specific movements. Hands-on techniques, such as soft tissue mobilization and joint stabilization, are also employed to optimize mobility and healing. Education is another vital component of our post-op care. Clients are taught how to protect their healing joints and tissues while gradually increasing activity levels in a safe and controlled way. With this comprehensive approach, clients at Vertical Sports PT not only recover but often return to their activities at a higher level than before. Our commitment to precision and long-term success ensures every individual is set up for lasting results.
